Columbia County |
||||
|
Rich in history, Columbia County was originally explored by Lewis and Clark who camped on the Patit Creek just east of Dayton, the County Seat. The City of Dayton is located at the base of the Blue Mountains and is a favored tourist attraction. In this community of historical buildings many, such as hotels and the movie theater, have been preserved and special care has been taken to upgrade the downtown shopping area, making this a very attractive community to live and work. Throughout the
year, local events are planned such as Dayton Days parades, All
Wheels Weekend Car show, Columbia County fair, Dayton on Tour art
show, and Historic Home tours to provide more enjoyment for the
area citizens and boost tourism. In addition, the SKI Bluewood Resort has
been successful in attracting people to the area. This community enjoys a high
quality of life. COUNTY
